Chiropractors “Level Up” at CASA Congress 2025

The Chiropractic Association of South Africa (CASA) hosted its annual congress from 19–21 September 2025 at Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa, bringing together 129 delegates under the theme “Level Up.”

The three-day event blended evidence-based learning, professional networking, and celebration of chiropractic’s role in healthcare. Delegates earned 14 Clinical CPD points and 4 Ethical CPD points, with the option of an additional 2 points for attending the AGM. Those who participated in all components could therefore achieve the full 20 CPD points. The academic program was structured around five pillars: professional development, clinical excellence, ethics and compliance, innovation, and mentorship.

Keynote addresses by Dr Scott Haldeman and Dr Brian Nook inspired delegates with global perspectives on spine health and calls for clinical excellence. The academic program was widely praised, with survey feedback confirming that the congress delivered on its promise of a chiropractic-forward agenda.

The Local Organising Committee played a pivotal role: Dr Kevin Lentin/Lian Kok (Program), Dr Luchelle Prinsloo (Logistics & Social), Dr Louise van Wyngaardt (Sponsorships), Dr Constant Grove (Audiovisual & Tech), and Dr Marni Kruger (Chair & Marketing) each contributed to the seamless delivery of the event.

Treatment tables were set up in the plenary, allowing chiropractors to practice techniques on one another in real time. This interactive format reinforced the congress’s commitment to translating knowledge into everyday clinical excellence.

Beyond the lecture halls, the congress offered memorable social highlights. The cocktail function welcomed allied health associations, the wine tasting provided a distinctly Cape Town flavour, and the gala dinner raised over R70,000 for World Spine Care, while also featuring a moving reflection from Dr Haldeman.

Exhibitors and sponsors played a vital role, with a diverse mix of chiropractic and health-focused stands and creative engagement strategies such as the Delegate Scavenger Hunt. A poster presentation was also included, adding an academic dimension to the program.

Importantly, the congress drew representatives of key role players in both local and international chiropractic leadership.

Congress Chair Dr Marni Kruger reflected that strong branding, financial vigilance, and teamwork underpinned the event’s success. Delegates left with sharpened skills, stronger networks, and a renewed sense of pride in chiropractic’s contribution to healthcare.

CASA Congress 2025 not only “levelled up” the profession’s annual gathering but also set a clear path for future organisers to build on its legacy.
